China to review anti-dumping measure on wine from Australia
来源:www.cnwinenews.com  2023-11-30 20:24 作者:

China will conduct a review on the anti-dumping and countervailing measures applicable to imported wine originating from Australia, said the Ministry of Commerce in an online notice on Thursday.

The ministry said that the review will start from November 30, 2023.   China will assess the necessity of imposing anti-dumping and countervailing duties on imported wine from Australia.

Last month, China and Australia said they had reached a consensus to settle a World Trade Organisation dispute about wine, and that the anti-dumping tariffs, set to expire in 2026, would be reviewed.

"The Ministry of Commerce will carry out a review in accordance with the law to fully protect the rights of all stakeholders," Shu Jueting, a commerce ministry spokesperson, told a regular news conference in Beijing.

"We will adjudicate objectively, fairly and openly based on the claims of each interested party and after examining the evidence," she added.

The ministry said any interested parties or stakeholders may submit comments in writing within 20 days.

The introduction of a 218% tax on most Australian wine introduced by China in 2021 prompted that trade, previously valued as high as $1.2 billion annually, to collapse.
