Following Ningxia, Xinjiang is also committed to building high-end wine region of China.

Recently, the People's Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region issued the "Guiding Opinions on Accelerating the Development of the Wine Industry". By 2025, the area of wine grapes planted in Xinjiang will reach 1 million mu, and the annual output of wine will reach 700,000 kiloliters, and the income of winemaking will be about 47 billion RMB.

By 2030, the planting area of wine grapes will reach 1.6 million mu, and wine production will amount to 1.5 million kiloliters, and the income of winemaking to reach about 100 billion RMB.

Experts pointed out that with the launch of the comprehensive pilot zone for the development of the national grape and wine industry in Ningxia, the wine industry in the western region will meet an unprecedented period of strategic opportunities. As the westernmost wine grape growing area and the main wine region in China, Xinjiang is expected to take advantage of the development of Ningxia to have its own expansion.

Located between 41°-44° north latitude, Xinjiang obviously has suitable geographical conditions for planting high-quality wine grapes. After more than 40 years of development, coupled with rich regional tourism resources and deep national cultural heritage, four major production areas and a relatively complete industrial system have been formed at the northern foot of the Tianshan Mountains, the Ili River Valley, the Yanqi Basin, and the Turpan-Hami Basin.
